In 2019, our journey began in the unlikeliest of places—a one-bedroom apartment—with Jeremy South at the helm. Transitioning from his role as an Operations Manager in a local landscaping business, Jeremy embarked on an extraordinary odyssey marked by boundless creativity and unwavering determination. He pounded the pavement, driven by the belief that the great outdoors held limitless potential.

The cornerstone of our success lies in our dedicated team, with José Barerra making a pivotal entrance. Jose shared our unwavering passion for excellence and sought to redefine industry standards. His joining, at the very precipice of the pandemic, brought 20 years of invaluable experience, enabling Jeremy to shift his focus to building the company.

As the COVID-19 pandemic swept across the nation, presenting unprecedented challenges, South Side Specialties stood as a beacon of hope. We adapted swiftly, implementing rigorous safety protocols to protect both our team and clients. Jeremy’s personal connections with clients offered reassurance in uncertain times, as trust and understanding became our guiding principles.

In the face of adversity, we remained steadfast, restoring faith in the great outdoors as a sanctuary. Within a remarkably short year, our dedication and adaptability not only preserved our existing client relationships but also attracted new ones, resulting in an impressive doubling of our client base.

What’s even more remarkable is that South Side Specialties became a source of solace, not only for our valued clients but also for employees who had lost their jobs at other companies due to pandemic-related shutdowns. Our team grew from just 3 dedicated members to nearly 25, offering employment and stability to individuals seeking a fresh start in challenging times.
